Unfortunately for a second year in a row, APS have not been able to celebrate Book Week with an assembly due to Covid restrictions but each classroom had fun with their buddy class when they dressed up and sang to "All About the Books".

In term 3, week 6 APS library celebrated Book Week. The theme "Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds", was on display with an outer space display, ancient Egyptian reading room and a micro worlds display of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. There were lots of special themed activities, treasure hunts, quizzes, Kahoot competitions and a felt board story.
Marion had been a volunteer in the APS library for nearly 15 years and we appreciate all the shelving and book covering she has completed throughout that time. Marion celebrated her 80th birthday during Book Week and enjoyed a special "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" cake morning tea in the library. It was great to have Perform Education visit our school on Wednesday, August 11th to perform their Book Week play, "Bigger, Better, Brighter" and ex student Mellisa was in the cast too.
