Ardtornish Primary School Library has its own mini museum thanks to the hard work of Paula Darsch. We studying the past in the JP history curriculum therefore we have a "pop up" museum to encourage students to learn about the past.
Congratulations to rooms 9 and 10 for being the first classes to complete the PRC. We are encouraging everyone to finish their PRC early even though the forms do not have to be handed in until August. The next goal will be to complete "The 40 Book Challenge".

Afternoon with the Stars, Thursday May 29th 4-5.30 pm
Ardtornish Primary School was fortunate to be the venue for Random House (publishing company) to host an "Afternoon with the Stars", an event showcasing the latest books from children's authors Janeen Brain, Jacqueline Harvey and Mike Dumbleton. Each author highlighted their work and spoke to a group of about 30 teachers and teacher librarians. Thank you to the authors and Random House for this enjoyable event. 3 books signed by the authors will be prizes in Book Week in term 3.

Miss Ravlich's class dressed up in historical costume to give themselves the right look to write about their life as a student from the past. They have been studying schools and toys from their parent's and grandparent's childhoods as well as earlier times.

2 Way Conference for History, June 4th
Year 5's enjoyed a 2 way conference in the library listening to Michael who explained how difficult it was to travel on a sailing ship from England to South Australia in the 1800's.Each migrant was only allowed 2-3 litres of water a day to drink, clean and wash and that water was often green and smelly.

During this term we have been moving resources from other buildings ( parts of the old library site ) to the new building. This means
- unpacking the compactus in room 11
- weeding the collection
- repackaging some kits and models.
- moving the non fiction and teacher's reference areas in the new library building
- rehousing the books and kits in new and/or borrowed shelving
- moving the guided readers from room 9/10
- deleting and disposing of unwanted or out-dated material
